Conventional tourniquets are made of elastane interwoven cotton and have mechanical plastic closures. None of their components meet current hygiene requirements. An adequate sanitary cleaning can only be done by autoclaving, one of the most reliable, but also the most time-consuming, sterilization procedures.

daisygrip, on the other hand, is skin-friendly, prevents pinching and strangulation, is simple and quick to clean. The materials used have been tested with microbiological swab samples and impressively demonstrated germ reduction: a safe, convincing alternative to traditional tourniquets.
